Here are just some of the duties your job consists of (and many more beyond this list…)
You don’t need to know much about citrus fruit to apply. We will teach you all about the fruit and the grove. All you need to apply is to have a good work ethic, pleasant attitude, a smile on your face, good judgement and common sense!
Knowing all the citrus varieties by look, smell and taste, along with season
Greeting customers with a smile; Conversing politely with all customers; treating them as if they were guests in your home
Handling any complaints with confidence and fairness always in mind and following through with any replacements to be made
Serving juice and fruit samples to customers, cutting samples as needed; Informing customers of the different fruit varieties now available and the new ones to come later
Keeping all fruit fresh and graded daily (or more) bagging fruit as needed; Keeping the store fully stocked at all times
Keeping the store clean both inside and out at all times, including the plants; Making sure there are no hazards that could hurt any customers, especially children
Answering the phone and entering a phone order
Take store shipping orders, being sure the correct and complete mailing address has been given; and the order is legible
Run a cash register/credit card machine; being honest and competent with the counting of money and handling of credit cards
Be a Grove Guide, as assigned, including tours, U-Pick and weighing at return from the grove
Being a team player and helping wherever you are needed
